Brian Coleman



Brian Coleman was raised in Memphis, Tennessee. He received his Bachelors of Arts undergraduate degree from Howard University, majoring in Political Science and English. While at Howard he was awarded the Lyndon B Johnson congressional fellowship, from which he served as a clerk in the U.S. House of Representatives for Congressman Harold Ford Sr. of Tennessee.

Upon graduation from Howard University, Mr. Coleman served as an Executive Personnel Representative for FedEx Corporation, where he conducted initial EEOC and Title VII investigations in house counsel. He conducted all internal grievance hearings for front line employees and managers, and enforced corporate policy in all contested disciplinary actions for the Northeast region of the country.

Mr. Coleman received his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University of Chicago, School of Law. He worked in the community law center where he litigated administrative trials and secured unemployment and social security benefits denied to indigent members of the community. Mr. Coleman clerked in a number of firms which practiced in areas of employment law representing plaintiffs and management and representing union side labor law. He served as a the treasurer of Phi Alpha Delta and a member of the Labor and Employment Law Society, the Public Interest Law Society, and the Black Law Students Association.

Prior to joining Koehler and Isaacs LLC, Mr. Coleman was appointed by Charles Hynes as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, New York, where he worked for five years as a senior felony trial attorney. During his tenure Mr. Coleman handled all aspects of felony prosecution from indictment to trial and prosecuted a myriad of cases ranging from vehicular crimes to felony assault and robbery.
