Omar D. Lopera


Since 1982 Omar D. Lopera has been practicing law, initially starting out in Chicago, Illinois doing international taxation and then in New York, where he started his private practice at the World Trade Center in 1984.

As a private practitioner, Omar D. Lopera concentrated on litigation matters both in civil and criminal courts, handling such matters as criminal defense in Federal and State jurisdictions, Forfeitures, Qui Tam (whistle blower) actions, commercial litigation, including computer contract disputes, construction arbitration, condominium conversions. Omar D. Lopera also has significant experience in international legal matters.

In addition to litigating disputes in the lower courts, Omar D. Lopera has also argued matters before the Appellate Division, First and Second Departments and before the New York State Court of Appeals.

Currently Mr. Lopera is a supervising attorney at Koehler & Isaacs handling criminal and civil litigation.

Mr. Lopera has also been active in political and community affairs, participating in local and national elections as well as community based non profit organizations where he organized citizenship drives, music festivals, and is currently President of the Queens Chamber Ensemble.
