Yesenia Rivera-Sipes



Ms. Rivera-Sipes graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in Journalism in 1997 and The George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC in 2001. During law school she worked as a judicial intern for the Bronx County Supreme Court, as a law clerk for the firm of Kator, Parks & Weiser in Washington, DC, and as a research assistant at the CBS Evening News. She also served as President of the Hispanic Law Students Association.

Prior to joining Koehler & Isaacs LLP, Ms. Rivera-Sipes interned on Capitol Hill for former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle and volunteered at the National Women’s Law Center. In 2002, Ms. Rivera-Sipes accepted a judicial clerkship with the Hon. Hector DeSoto in the Essex County Family Court in New Jersey. Upon completion of her clerkship, she worked for three years as a staff attorney at the New York City non-profit law firm, Lawyers for Children, where she represented children in child abuse, neglect, custody, and termination of parental rights cases. At Koehler & Isaacs LLP, Ms. Rivera-Sipes practices matrimonial and family law, representing clients in divorce and separation matters, as well as in, paternity, child, and spousal support proceedings in both New York State Supreme Court and Family Courts.
