Peter Troxler
Peter Troxler has been involved in the areas of Criminal and Administrative Employment Law for more than ten years. As a Trial Preparation Assistant with the Special Prosecutions Bureau of the New York County District Attorney’s Office from 1995 through 1998, he gained three years of invaluable exposure to important investigative techniques used at the forefront of Criminal Practice.
In 1998, he then left to attend the New York Law School. While there, he secured many significant internships which advanced his standing and interest in Criminal and Employment Labor law. He joined the Unemployment Action Center and, throughout his law school career, litigated more than 100 cases challenging the New York State Labor Department’s denial of Unemployment Insurance Benefits. He served as an Intern at the New York County Defenders, which represented indigent defendants arrested in New York County. He was also an intern for the United States Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of New York, where he assisted in the prosecution of one of the first criminal trials of the sales of and distribution of adulterated and fraudulent pharmaceuticals.
Upon graduating New York Law School in 2001, Mr. Troxler was appointed as an Assistant District Attorney for the Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County, where he served a five year tenure. During that period, he handled thousands of misdemeanor cases including DWI, assault, narcotics, and trespass cases while assigned to the Criminal Court Bureau. He was then promoted to the Intake Bureau, where he presented felony cases to the Grand Jury and screened non-felony cases for misdemeanor prosecution or dismissal. He was then promoted to Trial Division where, for two years, he prosecuted and tried felony cases including Robberies, Burglaries, Assaults, Shootings, Gun Possession, Stolen Cars, DWI, and Prison Contraband cases from Riker’s Island.
